Developed in five successive phases between 1996 and 2004, The Quai de la Commune complex, boasts a total of 350 units of avant-garde design valued at $57 million.. The complex helped breathe new life into an entire sector of Montréal's historical quarter of Faubourg des Recollets. From the outset, residents of Quai de la Commune have seen significant increases in the values of their loft units. The initial phase involved the transformation of an early-20th-century building into 81 lofts. Residents helped spur the rebirth of neighbouring Old Montreal.
